I currently have an edge 5 level chip,afe cold air intake,4" straight through exaust,guages,billet convertor..I'm looking for around 450hp,reliable and able to tow around 12000#s..There's a million ideas? what turbo,injectors,pump etc should I run. I have 130k on the cummins and it runs great,but my new trailer is alot heavier and I need more power..What upgrades should I buy and what safety procautions must be taken etc...help please, thanks,cameron...
I don't tow that daily, once a month...HP ideas are clearly ideas..I just need more power to pull the big grades....Injectors? aftermarket turbo? Fass fuel system?....keep the suggestions coming...I don't know who to trust or where to buy these parts from...

 

unless you are gonna spend $3k for a set of twins, then reliable, towable 450hp is not gonna happen. you can have 450hp to play with, but you will need to turn it down to make it reliable while towing.

I had a great towing combo when i ran 100hp injectors, and an edge comp on level 3 with 4" straight exhaust, and AFE intake to get some more air in and out. it pulled 8k no problem at 70mph and stayed cool with the stock hx35 and a 14cm housing.

 

Cameron, are you intending to pull that 12k daily? What kind of distance?
450 flywheel or to the ground? These kind of questions will drive your answers.

 

what tranny do you have? an auto that can tow with that kinda power will be pricey also. If it's a standerd you can get by with a $1k clutch
