i want 450hp/1000ft lbs

hey felllas, and ladies.

i went to bd dyno days 2 weeks ago. i was dissappointed. you see the mods in the sig, and the results too. a buddy has the same truck, same module, a replacement muffler, a drop in air filter, and a glacier l/p. he put down 30 more hp and 60 more ftlbs. than i did. all with a factory turbo. on the same dyno, 5 minutes after my run.

is it just my clutch that is giving me low numbers? my reason to upgrade the turbo was for egt reduction, but i would like to think that it isnt killing my power output. i will get a smarty after I upgrade the clutch. hopefully that will get me to my goal. what am I missing?

It very likely could be your clutch, before I got my tranny and stuff done I went on the dyno and only hit 349, but the fellow that was running the dyno told me that he could tell that my tranny was pooched and I was probably losing 50hp,, so I dont see why a clutch would be any different

Without a clutch you can have 2,000,000,000 HP and none of it will reach the pavement if your clutch can't handle the power. You can lose a LOT more than 50HP if your clutch is really bad, and the higher your HP and TQ, the more you will lose. Get an SBC 3850 and call it a day! I did!

You will need another box like the VA C3.2 stacked with your Quad race box. That will definitely get you where you want to be. You just have to watch your temps with that stack. There was one in the classifieds a couple weeks ago.....

how about the smarty quad stack? similar results as the van aaken quad? i had the smarty stacked for a weekend, but couldnt play much cause of the clutch. thanks boys.

I'm sure the Smarty will stack with your Quad. It seems to stack with everything else.

i know it stacks fine. i drove it that way for a few days. i just wonder with my mods and the smarty stacked with the quad race, what my output will be. i dont want to order a SB ofe(rated at 450/1000) and be over that and slipping. i have larger dia tires, and that doesnt help the clutch either.

I would get a clutch rated for 550 if it were me, I never like to play it right on the line, it never fails, you spend the money on that, and then a good deal comes up and boom there you are over and slipping again, it really sucks to spend twice.

I agree. That stack will probably be pretty close to the numbers you want. You may even be a bit higher....

I stacked the BD Ram X power plus box with the Diablo programer in the stack program and put down the numbers in my sig. Stock air box and a strait pipe!

dmax, you did that with a stock turbo? wow.

greenie, thanks for the link. mine should be higher than those number since it is an 04.5 and the hairdryer.

thanks guys. i will have to get the 550 hp clutch and live with the grabbiness.

Yes, stock turbo and clutch. I promise though, that stock clutch will NOT take too much of that. Its kinda scary when it takes it one time, much less repeated times. With just the BD box like I run it daily, it put down 428HP and about 850TQ.

The only mods were the two boxes and the strait pipe. Cat still in place and all!!
