head stud help

Exclamation head stud help

6 head stud longer then the others in what position do they go? on the passenger side that isint under the valve cover? im doing the instal right now so info soon is much appericated

If they are ARP studs the 6 longer studs go on the passenger side outside the valve cover.

The longest bolts go with the thickest part of the head & vs , vs - shortest on the thinest .
An other way to look at it is the closer to the cylinder , the more thread part of the bolt that should go into the block .

they are arps and that is what i figured it made the most sense thanks. got 4 more studs to go and put the rocker arms back on, and adjust valves and im done!

Curt, how much of a job was it? Did you pull the whole head and deck it or no? I'm gonna have to replace my head gasket here soon so I was just wondering. A 24V can't be that much different.

i left the head and just put the studs in place of the bolts one at a time it wasnt bad at all just time consuming. i was also working slowly. with some basic to good mechanical skill its not too bad. but also i mechanic for a living
