He351 over HT4B Twins = Sweet Burnout

I know there are a lot of guys on here that run twins for towing and all out performance.

I just wanted to share a short burnout clip from this past weekend at the NHRDA Desert Diesel Nationals.

As you can clearly see in the video, these twins spool wicked fast and helped the Junker Drag Truck produce enough tire smoke to win the burnout trophy.

More details about the twin turbo build can be found in the link below, It's a long thread but chronicles the build from stock to 12 second 1/4 mile times.

These twins spool so well, I'm thinking about building a set for my new daily driver 98' QCLB 4x4 12 valve.

Back in 2008 I played around with the He351cw turbo on my 99', from my testing a small successes from that turbo, I decided it would be a great top turbo in a set of twins.

These twins produce 75 psi and run really clean down the track with large 5 x.018 injectors.

I just wanted to post a couple of pictures showing how clean a 12 valve truck can run with twin turbos and lots of fuel.

Heres a picture of the smoke output during spool up:

And here's one just a second or two later once the twins are up at full boost:

The exhaust really cleans up after about 5 seconds:

Toward the end of the burnout:

This picture is just for fun.

Awesome Pics Blue...I read your '95 Junker Build start to finish. Awesome read. Although I am not working on the same things as you, it gave me some good insight and pointers on what I am working on. Great information, Great right up and nice work. Thank you and good luck with your next mods! I will be looking forward to the update on the thread.

A triple disk torque converter is the next upgrade. I hurt the billet single disk converter that's in it now, it will no longer lock up. After checking transmission line pressure and finding that it was lower than expected with warm fluid, I think the reason the single failed at just over 500 HP is due to inadequate line pressure, just 160 psi instead of the ideal race transmission range of 190 to 210 psi. Just for reference, stock line pressure is in the 90 to 105 psi range.
