is it possible to remove them completely?

Sure you could take them out; but Id say as soon as your started your truck it would go to WOT, and you would be done for. Just do the free washer mod for a GSK. The springs hold pressure against the governor to keep it at the rpm's you want. If you take them out; there is nothing to hold pressure, and WOT here you come... Thats my guess anyway

WOT is exactly what you will get .because the pumps VE or p shut down at full fuel and as soon as it starts the springs go to work and pull it down to idle or the position your foot holds it in with out the springs WOT is what you get!!
