Gov. Spring Adjustments

I just took my stock fuel plate out and put my #6 plat back in and adjusted the gov. arm properly. It is running a lot better now but I still have a bad miss between 1000 and 1200 rpm. I read on here a while back that you can adjusty the gov springs to get rid of that but I am clueless as to how I would go about that. Can anyone help me with this. The miss is really wierd because it only starts when it warms up. When the truck is cold it does not do it at all. i am not sure if there is to much fuel and not enough boost or what. I have learned how to drive through it. Does everyone with a manual try to keep there rpm's above 1500. Thanks for any help.

and adjusted the gov. arm properly.
What do you mean? Did you just crank the stock gov. springs down a few clicks or what? If so you may double check that both sides are equall in adjustment or try backing them off a click or two.

Re:Gov. Spring Adjustments

Gov. arm is totally different than the gov. springs.
Some say it can't be done on the truck and has to be on a test stand.

Horse hockey !!!

I've done several gov. lever [ arm ] adjustments...

On the truck of course

I must have misread. I just assumed he was talking about the springs :. What type of adjustments are there for the gov. arm and what does it do?

Re:Gov. Spring Adjustments

If you have a stumble after a plate change or gov. spring install [ espicially W/ the 215 motor ]
This will cure it.

Check out Piers website under tech. facts or something like that.

But be ready for some arm cramps if you try it.

Re:Gov. Spring Adjustments

Let me rephrase that
It's more of a hesitation than a stumble.

Sorry ! :

Re:Gov. Spring Adjustments

Thanks for all the replies. My stumble actually started after I changed delivery valves. I only changed plates after the delivery valves hoping that it may cure my stumble but it did not. I did adjust the gov. lever and it is possible on the truck but what a pain in the you know what. I have not touched the gov. springs but I know that someone else has. I am going to look on piers tonight to get the instructions. Thanks again.

Re:Gov. Spring Adjustments

I don't think your gonna get rid of that stumble with the laser cut DV's. The big fuel experts can chime in here but, I think there ain't nothin you can do about it.

Re:Gov. Spring Adjustments

Too much fuel at low RP M's = stumble. There isn't much you can do about it, except go to lesser fueling DV's. Not much of a chance of doing that. Smile and step on it harder. ;D ;D ;D
