Had a set on a old '85 4x4 3/4 ton chevy gasser ranch truck a few years ago.And they were good tires.Didn't do any towing with the truck so I can't comment on that. But they worked fine for normal ranch use.I think they make a few different tread patterns in the workhorse don't they?I don't remember if they were E rated or D though.I don't like D rated tires much.Too much side wall flex for me.

The traction was ok.They were just put on the truck when we got it.They were the more aggresive workhorses, but they were just a A/T tire. So,not great in mud but pretty good for other offroad use.Of course not as good as a mud-terrain or swamper but they worked fine. And alot better on the highway than the others I mentioned!

I have BFG Commercial TAs on the 1500.... They are Load Range E. Good tires. They ride well and wear very well and were not expensive. The traction is also good.... nothing like the BFG Mud Terrain or similar, but good for what it is....

They are a 10ply tire and I have my 2nd set on my truck now. I got a little over 50,000 out of the first set and though they are not true mud tires they did pretty good when ever I needed them.

I had a set of 285 BFG's. Got 71,000 out of them. Can't get them in E range. But I loaded the ones I had and had NO problems.
