Today I changed my fuel filter[fleetguard FS 19855] and when trying to reinstall it on the new filter I got yesterday it was very snug fitting. The filter was a different design from the old one, been in truck 2 years[5,000] mile, so I put the original plastic one on for now. Does this new filter fit with the geno's cap ok or should I look for a different brand.

 

It should fit. I have one of Genos caps on my 02. The new (non snap in) filters seem to be a bit snug. If you are taking fuel pressure off the cap, cut a few notches in the plastic lip ensuring fuel reaching the pressure outlet.

 

I called Geno's today and the tech. rep informed me that the cap was inlarged on the inside to accomondate this new filter[FS19855] vs the last number used. He told me to use a dremel to grind the inside down on the rim until the filter fits. sounds like a pain, but it either that or spend 59.00 plus shipping again. I bought it to monitor the fuel pressure, which works good. Thanks for you reply. stock659
