Gauges now but no boost!!

I finally gathered all the parts for installing the rest of my gauges and finished the project. Pyro reads from 300* idle to 900* interstate driving which I believe is normal.

FP reads 15 almost all the time. When I get on it a little I saw it go to about 13 but have not opened her up yet because of my boost readings.

Boost never moved from 0. I did not know if this is normal or not seeing as I have not done any performance upgrades to the motor. At the same time it has to be producing some boost stock... right????

Just want to make sure FP and Boost readings seem normal before I tear up something by running it too hard.

Sounds like maybe you over tightened the fitting on your boost gauge possibly crushing the tube. You do not want to over thighten the boost connections.

Would looseing them work or should I take them off and re-cut the ends?

Where are you picking up your boost pressure from?
Mine is tapped off the intake horn.

I will try to get some pics up but mine is taken from a 3/4" plug removed from the motor right behind the fuel filter. It took a couple of adapters or reducers to make it fit.

agree with top... sounds like you crushed your tubing. I have my boost gauge ran from the same pipe plug and it works like a charm... plus I didn't have to tap any holes into my intake horn.

Is this a place to measure boost? Are you sure?

as long as he removed the correct plug. My gauge came from TST set up to be connected to said pipe plug.

Yup. I've had mine there for 3 or 4 years now. There are two plugs back there though. One is for boost the other is for coolant. Make sure you got the right one.

I have boost now!!!! The tubing going to the boost port was crushed so I removed it cut off 2 inches and reattached it... still no boost... hold on it gets better. I then removed the last adapter and yep it was clogged with lock-tite!!! With all said and done all gauges are working now!!! Does that fuel pressure seem about right? Thanks for everyone's help and advice!

My boost gage uses hose barbs and hose, along with a tie wrap ove rit. it withstands 40 psi so I guess it is good.

Yes, that is perfectly normal for a nice healthy lift pump.

Now that you know your boost guage is working right, you'll see the FP dip down around 11 when you "get on it".
