Gauges are in......

I finally got my Dipricol Optix boost, pyro, and fuel pressure gauges put in last week. At about 60 mph, I'm running 4 pounds boost, 650* pyro, and about 7 lbs f.p. At W.O.T, I got up to 20 lbs boost, 1100*pyro, and 6 lbs F.P. - f.p. is about 10 lbs at idle. Do these numbers sound about right?

.....I ordered my Smarty today, I hope it will be as good as I think it will be

If your lift pump is in the stock location - your FP is borderline

be careful, when i had my 24valver, my fuel pressure readings were just like yours, and two weeks later i was installing a new vp. replace your fuel pump, skimping on a $100 replacement know is not worth it, you will kick yourself when your replacing the ip.

by the way, where in iowa do you live, i have a lot of family there, who i might add are diehard cummins fans. my uncle has a 98 12v with twins. Dynoed at 730hp and 1480lb of tq. you should see that thing in truck pulls, amazing. those powerjokes and durasucks never had a chance.

Any pictures of your fuel pressure gauge hook up? I am going to get mine hooked up soon.
Also, question about your pyro. I just got the same one, but its not working. Where did you hook up the red and the black wires coming out of the gauge?

So should I be worried driving it until i get a new lift pump, or should I just be watching my fuel pressure closely? Is 5-7 psi dangerously low? I also put on the Big Line fuel line kit from power by poole. When my Smarty comes in a couple days, should I be cautious about loading up SW 9 and stomping on the skinny pedal?

- I can look at how my pyro is hooked up, I'll get back to you. I'll get some pictures and hopefully post them tonight.

Fox: 5 Psi is getting low. I would be real careful with the Smarty until you get the pump replaced or get a FASS installed.

Pinkston: do a Search for the member: "Moose10" - he has some very good pics of his fp guage install.
