I would get the gauges. Then you won't be second guessing the temps.

I'd get the gauges, It can get up there when you work the truck. What if you lose a intercooler boot and start leaking boost? One of the two gauges will detect a problem before you melt down. This happened to me a couple weeks ago, had to really feather the throttle until I could get to a spot and put the boot back on.

Same happened to me this weekend...I didn't even have my box on, just the backend filled with fishing stuff...had to go easy cause the temp would run high without the boost...regardless, the guages are a small investment not to mention they are a nice conversation piece for the non-bombers!

I can get up to 1250 unloaded on a hill.

This is totally stock fueling and timing wise.

Get the guages, nuff said.

I agree. It's a small investment for the amount of peace of mind you get in return.

Ditto what the others said. I had just an ez and on hills could get the temp up but usually only on the long grades here in the mountains. The heavier the load the easier it was to get the high temp. It was never an issue when driving around town or on the flats.
