Gauges
Gauges
I am still new to diesel trucks and have been here awhile reading all the post's about gauges. I am convinced that they are necessary but have some concerns.

When I take my truck back to the ******* for warranty work will the addition of gauges effect my warranty?

I have been reading that for the most part the install process is straight forward. Is that true? If I am uncomfortable installing the (or do not have the time) is there shop in Dallas, TX that can do it for me for a reasonable price.

Thanks for helping a newbie
Re:Gauges
I still haven't done it yet either. I may be green with this bombing stuff, but not green enough apparently. My wallet still hasn't gotten padded enough yet to do the deed.

Down to business,...from everything that I have read, adding gauges will not void any warranty, it will just show that you're a caring owner who loves your truck and sings it to sleep every night.

As for the install process, again, I haven't done it yet so I can't give you all the particulars. But, for the most part, it's very straightforward, a plug here, a snip there. From what I hear, there's only one or two gauges where you need to drill and tap into anything. I think this is EGT and tranny temp (lots of different thoughts on this one as for placement and methods. keep reading.)

I found a place that'll install it all as well, but for me, I'd rather get more intimate with my baby and get my hands all over her. :

I hope this helps. ...and btw, welcome to DTR.

-SFB

Re:Gauges
Gauges by themselves will not void a warranty.
However the dealers use the gauges as a warning flag to look closer for signs of BOMBing, or "Performance Enhancing Modifications"
If all you have is gauges, you should have nothing to worry about (unless you’re dealing with a very picky dealer).
