Gauge wiring

I finally got my gauges mounted last night and I'm going to finish wiring them up over the weekend. Where do most of you pick up the ignition power from?

Also on the gauge lighting I was thinking of tapping into the wire the tach uses. Any problem with this or should I tie in somewhere else?

Thanks,

Jay

Re:Gauge wiring

I picked up the ingition power at the radio. I already had a relay there to power some aux light switches, that way I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn them off. I got the light power from the lights in the storage hole on the lower part of the dash.

Re:Gauge wiring

I got my power from the radio, a spare fuse, and the dash lights(gauge only comes on when dash lights turned on). Three seperate gauges, three seperate power sources, three seperate grounds. I got the gauges to dim from the dash light fuse.
