putting in gauges (pyro, boost, and trans temp) and need to know the best place to get power for them. anyone know what wires work well for power and lighting?

 

I found the power for the existing gauges and tapped into that for mine. That way the gauges dim with the rest of the gauges. I'll be working on the truck tomorrow and look if you need but if I remember correctly it was labeled on the fuse panel by the drivers door.

 

ya thats what id like....for everything to work in conjunction with the main guages. at what point did u tap into the power? right at the fuse box or somewhere under the dash?

 

I just tapped into the fusebox off the cig lighter power, goes on with the key. Tap into the ashtray light for dimming.

 

take the light switch off and its the tan wire with white stripe that is the dimmer wire, to double check just get a test light and ground the one side and touch the wire and move the dimmer up and down and the test light will dim
