even though the VP44 has its failure points I still like it over the P pumps... This is what use computer guys call PnP! (Play N' Play)
or (Patch N' Pray)
It seems to still apply to the VP44 pumps...

The whole reason I started this pole is because the THIRD VP44 has now given up on me. Which is no surprise, so now I'm trying to decide whether to sell the truck and get a 12v, or put yet another vp on, or p-pump it(my personal favorite)
. so any extra advice would be nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the oldy but goody
12V mechanical with P7100, the pumps reputation is solid, and it can folw insane amounts of fuel with just a little money into it. A p pumped 24 V would be awesome, except, im not sure about the conversion, i wouldnt mind it at all, i would probly do that if i had a 24V, but till then ill stick with what has proven to be most reliable..

I like the VP44 because you can have a 600 hp truck and still drive it like it was stock. Turn the box off when you don't need the power or when weather conditions won't allow it, adjust when the fuel comes in from the cab, multiple power adjustments at the flip of a switch, I like it.

I agree that the street manners and adjustability are a lot better than that of a p-pump but i need reliability three pumps in 165,000 is not reliable especially at $1100 a pop. but if they made one that i could get 450,000 miles on then i would buy it (that is what my dads had on his 97 when we sold it in 2001) but thats not going to happen with that electronic piece of circuitry junk.

Some guys with p-pumped 24v trucks don't like the way they run. RonA over on the TDR is STILL trying to get his to run right and dialed in. Getting very frustated.
Ya know, you could pull the 24v and drop-in a 12v. Might be cheaper, too. Heard the p-pump conversion VERY $$$$$$$$$$$$. Last I heard, even PDR won't do it anymore.
