Fuel pressure post filter ???

Does anyone know what the fuel pressure should be on these '03's running post filter? I'm getting 9 lbs steady at idle, and 6 WOT. I have 3100 miles on the truck.

Re:Fuel pressure post filter ???

My 2002 runs 14.4 to 15.2 at idle and 12.6 to 13.2 at 65 mph. Don't know what pressure at WOT.
Do the 03's have different lift pumps?

Tim

Re:Fuel pressure post filter ???

They probably do havew a different lift pump than the older model. I had my old '99 tested at the dealership, and it was 8 lbs. at idle so they put a new one in that ran 14 at idle. I did not bleed the pressure guage line before tightening it down, so I could have trapped air causing low reading. The dealership didn't say where they measure the old one at - pre or post filter. Do you think I need to bleed the guage line (it is a mechanical guage)?

Thanks SD03. I'll give that a try at lunch time and let you know if it changes anything.

Re:Fuel pressure post filter ???

Update: I just talked to the tech specialist at the dealership, and he said the 2003's should have 7 - 9 lbs at idle post filter. He was at a training class for these new ones just two weeks ago, and that very question came up. He said a few of the very late model HO 2002's also go the modified lift and injection pumps as well, so my 8.5 lbs. at idle is just what it is supposed to be. ;D

Thanks all, for the replies and suggestions. It is a good thing I looked at it at lunch time to bleed the line anyway, as I did not have the plumbing at the bottom of the canister tight enough anyway, so had to disconnect guage line, tighten fittings, re-attach, and bleed line. No more drips, and no fuel smell in the cab. All is cool. 8)
