Fuel Pressure Gauge

I hope this is the right place to post this. I want to put a fuel pressure gauge on my truck but I am not sure where I should install the sender. I read on here that other people have installed them on 12 valve trucks but where do you install the sender. Thanks for any help.

Re:Fuel Pressure Gauge

Prob should put it between the lift pump and the filter, Just dont do like I did the first time and tap in to the pressure tap on the injection pump. That pump does some serious pulseing...It was bouncing the needle on my gauge so bad it slammed down on the zero stop and broke the needle... . So then I just took the line off between the lift pump and the filter and put a tee in it. Some of the guys here are buying new/bigger lines with new banjos that flow better and have a place to tap a pressure gauge into already but I'll have to wait for the lines cause my little adventure cost me 2 gauges :'(

Anyway, Good luck
FreightTrain Wayneo,

Re:Fuel Pressure Gauge

I run 2 Autometer / Mechanical Fuel Pressure Gage's With the Isolator, no banjo’s, #6AN SS 3/8 Lines, tank to VP-44.

1 isolator I have on the intake side of the fuel filter and it reads 5-7 lbs all the time. 0-20 Lb gauge. I run the dual carter replacement pumps (P4600HP 7 psi, P4601HP 15 psi)

The other isolator I put right at the VP-44 using a T #6AN metric connection with the 3/8 lines this reads 15-20 lbs most of the time. When the filter needs to be changed it will drop to 10 Lbs. I keep an eye on this.

FreightTrain the slammed down bounce you were talking about was this from a mechanical or electric type gauge? And what is the MFG name of this gauge?

I ask because I am right at the VP-44 inlet with a T and a 0-100 lb gauge and it is "OK" very little "bounce" although at times I can get the gauge to move to as low as 12 Lbs (WOT 1/4 race) the only bounce I get is when I let off it bounces back to 15 Lbs then when I idle at a light with a full tank it will go to 20Lbs. I never see it "bounce" from 0-20.

OverFueled
