you raise some good points about being in an accident. i just don't know if i'll be able to fit it inside the framerail, but i'll give it a shot later this year.

my pump is mechanical and is run off the crank at the front of the engine. the run to the VP44 after the pump is quite short, and the pump location cannot be moved.

the filter that leaked was the permacool that came from summit. i ordered the filter/head combo - the leak came from the water sep tap on the bottom of the filter - no matter how tight i tried to get it - it kept making a mess on the asphalt. the head itself has been just fine though . . .

Sounds like you may have gotten a bad filter that gave you the leak problem.

That water tap valve does not appear to be the best i have ever seen but so far no problems for me. And you do get a new valve with each new filter.

Let me know when you go to relocate your filter mount if i can help you in any way.
