fuel plate installation

is it necessary to adjust the governor control arm when putting in a new fuel plate?

When you install the plate check the following, If it has an angle on the nose, raise the fuel solinoid arm and move the throttle rod to full fuel position and see where the lever makes contact with the plate. If it goes under then you will have to adjust it. If it is a home ground plate then it should be straight on the bottom of the plate where it makes contact, and may be ok.
I found mine would go under so I took it back out.
