fuel plate for 180 pump

I have a 97 auto that I am putting a NV4500 in. For the 180 pump, the #5 plate is the highest power correct?

A 0 or no plate will give you the most power.
Depending on the clutch you use will help pick a profile

Just grind your plate and make either a 0 or 100 plate. DO a search as lots of info on this site about it. These 2 plates are basically the same, only the 100 has a curve on the bottom and either will give you the most power

Do the "free" plate then save that money for a clutch or some injectors. I bought the plate and now wish I had just ground it and put the money else where. Get a boost fitting though, works wonders on making the truck more responsive.

I would go straight to the 4kgsk and get some 60lbs valve springs and get injectors ddp 4's or 3's.

No but there are a number of ways to do it with out dropping a valve into the cylinder , like bringing each piston to the top so that if it does drop it will not go too far .

Check Cummins for valve springs. Often less money than the numerous vendors out there.
A GSK changes the plate numbers. A #4 works very well with the 180 pump and a GSK. A #100 plate is better only if you have a RFG or right foot governor.

Which clutch? That was an obviously missing from you list.
