fuel filter delete
just about any filter head and matching filter will work...sky is the limit...
I was going to say fass or Airdog, but see your sig says 1996, so the mechanical pump is not worth replacing with an electric pump (mechanical is way more reliable)

That's the issue I allready have an airdog and deleted my warn out fuel pump probubly 5 years ago so now I want to get rid of the factory fuel filter as I really don't need it now any sugestions. I have seen a bracket on pure diesel power to do this but its set up for third gens don't know if it would work on mine

isn't that just the inlet though? (probably post-airdog now)
if it is the inlet, you should see an outlet on the bottom which feeds the injections pump.
if that is the case (if it as anything similar to my 24v setup) you should have no issues deleting and replacing with a spin-on filter setup or just running into the injection pump staraight form the airdog.
i am no 12v expert, but you haven't got much for responses yet.
hope this helps,

The only real issue you have is connecting the injector return the IP return. Should be able to cut the line and put a compression fitting on it. Or rig up a block to screw the stock banjo bolt into it.

thanx for clearing that up tate - although i didn't know for sure, i had that 'sixth sense' feeling as i was typing someone would be correcting me!
so the stock 12v canisters provide double filtration?
seems like a step backwards going to the 24v with one inslet/outlet . . . unless the reason for the change was to keep the fuel a little bit cooler by returning all the way back to the tank . . .

Awesome my engine is torn apart for the rebuild right now so I forgot my return line comes back into that bango fitting so yes I will just take a brass block tap it and screw the bolt into it and delete the filter

The return line from the injectors needs to go to the pressure side of the lift pump to work correctly.
If you tee into the suction side of the lift pump or the main return line it will cause to injectors to pop off at a lower pressure.

sooooo i was not the one who installed the air dog. so im not positive how it was installed but it looks to me that he ran the fuel line right from the air dog pump to the side of the injection pump so am i already screwed???
Isis, if it is already bypassing the filter canister, it sounds like you're set. Double check where your injector return line is headed. If its not to the canister, you should be able to toss the filter housing away.
now i really have to look i think all that goes to the canister is a large line with a banjo bolt that attaches to the top of the bracket and then theres a rubber hoes that leaves the underside of the bracket and thats it that attaches i think
