Can you use the schrader test port on the filter or VP44 to hook up FP gauge ? Can a LP pressure be fair one day and not so good another day?

Yes, and I would be concerned about fluctuations.

 

Lenn, theres 3 places you can go with....

1) The bottom of the fuel filter canister, 2) on the VP-44 inlet, or 3) on the test port (probably not the best place) on the VP-44. The first two will requaire a tapped banjo bolt and the correct fittings, and the last one will require a special hose/fitting for the test port.
