Flywheel hydraulic pump
I saw on another forum that some of the cummins engines (5.9s) in larger trucks have a flywheel driven hydraulic pump mounted where our starters are and the starter mounts on the opposite side of the engine. I want to do this in mine, or maybe put a pump on the passenger side and leave the starter alone. would I have to get a different bellhousing? is there a pump that mounts in the hole where you put the tool for turning the engine? help me out! thanks!

The first problem i see , IF you find the right bellhousing-engine adapter , is that you would have to lose the tranny heat exchanger , which probably wouldn't be too big of an issue in Guam , i gather it doesn't get very cold there.

oh and I can't run the hydraulic pump off the PTO because
A. I don't have one
B. if I did, it would need to run full time for steering duties
