I'm in Quartzsite Az. Quite a ways from any large town. I'm thinking of replacing the bed on my 98 with a flatbed. The welding shops in the area haven't done anything like that and aren't interested. Any ideas?

You could find a used one you like, make any mods to the bed, then have it blasted and painted. Thats what ive done before.

 

Craigslist for used. Ranchers always getting rid of them or eBay for new.

I'm coming to Quartzite in 2 weeks, I'll show ya one I built for $750 in materials. sell the old bed to buy a welder and still save money. iwas in Quartzite a couple years ago and broke the frame on my trvel trailer. The local welder had retired and sold his equipment. Went to the tire shop and they had a welder, but didn't know how to use it. Welded it myself and had to pay his rates anyway !
