Took a video the other night of me taking off with no boost. Does mine seem to spool slower than you guys that have built auto's or converters and 3:55's with a stock turbo? It smokes plenty anyways

Are you holding the brake and allowing the turbo to spool before letting off the brake say about 10PSI boost? Sounded like you just hit the go peddle.

 

Well, I said "launch" but its just a standing take off with no boost. I can build 10psi and come out of the hole burning tires, but I was wondering if everyone elses is this laggy without building boost.

are you asking for 12v or 24v?

 

Looks about like mine cept mine won't really light off until it shifts into 2nd although it'll hit close to 40psi in first.

 

mine spools up just a LIL bit quicker w/ stock turbo and my "suncoasted" rebuilt trans.... i cant wait till the track re opens in the spring so that i can get a Q.M. time and 0-60 time

 

When I was trying the SPS 62 my spool was as bad. After talking with Doug it was decided that a AFC spring kit would help. The kit got rid of most of the smoke and spool was much improved.

 

How well does the converter load the engine when shifted into drive?? Will the truck start moving unless you hold the brake?

My engine conveter combo will start to make boost in gear at about 1000 rpm taking off easy, getting about 4lbs at 1200rpm. But at 2200rpm when go pedal floored it will make 35+lbs.

Now... I am not pushing the fuel you are though I only have the 160 pump and injectors with a 100 plate 1/2 fwd so mine does not smoke nearly as bad as yours. In fact I was thinking about moving the plate all the way fwd to see if it will make some smoke.
