"Hotter" 2nd Gen Smarty update

Bob & Marco,

Can you comment if there's any plans to release a "Hot" version update for us 2nd Gen guys? Double power with maybe more top end and RPM for the drag racing and sled puller crowd.

2nd Gen Smarty has been out for a while and now the 3rd Gen is on the market so lets let it all hang out. "Smarty Hot" version.

I'll be your test mule if you need one.

My wish for an update would be a way to have the high idle/ 3 cylinder warmup at a higher outside temp. I only drive 5 miles to work so on those 25 degree mornings I start to warm up about the time I pull into my parking space. Would be nice to have it warm up sooner, for me and the engine.

I don't know how hard it would be to implement something like this, but it would be cool to be able to have an interface that allowed the user to select some parameters of the Smarty software. For example, I'd like to be able to fix my cruise control. On the early 2nd Gen trucks, it stayed "on" when the truck was turned off, so you only had to set the speed to use it. On the newer ones, it turns off when the truck is turned off, so you have to turn it back on before you can set it. Stupid and irritating. It would be cool to be able to fix that by clicking a checkbox.

There's got to be something Marco can do to squeeze more top end power out of Smarty. From what I've been seeing, people are actually seeing slower times and lower dyno numbers when set on the upper programs (#8 & #9).

This request may have been discussed in the past, but it's hard to keep up with both 2nd and 3rd Gen progress so sorry if it's a repeat. I hate to think what we have now is all that's left in 2nd Gen Smarty. Don't get me wrong, I love the low end power but, I guess I was expecting more to be released after the 3rd Gen was released. Not to mention the price difference between the two is only a few dollars but performance between the two is far from close.

your dealing with two compleatly different animals! they arnt even remotely comparable. a vp44'd truck is limited to what you can do with the ecm. a CR engine is capable of a heck of a lot more!

I understand this (I have both in case you missed that), I'm looking for Marco or Bob to chime in to see if there's anything else left in the ECM of a VP44'd truck that could be alterd for more top end...or is the ECM already tapped out for power? I can live with what the 2nd Gen already has to offer, but like some, a little more wouldn't hurt.

whats it set on, #9? my truck takes minimal accelerator pressure to take off on #5. that's how its suppose to be, i think.
i know i m nowhere near your power level, but i imagine once i get there or close it will be extra touchy.

Level 5 If your not carefull you will buck your self right out of the seat. The truck was touchy after an apps change i think the smarty just magnified that! a 1/16 on the throttle pedal will send you sideways!

mysterync--you running odd number programs with your Comp?? Can you tell the diffrence between two equal programs, i.e., 6 & 7 and 8 & 9? I've never ran the additional timing of the odd number programs with the Comp becuase I thought it was to much timing?
