Fast Idle
Re:Fast Idle
Harold Bowers also makes a high-idle kit made using a GM-throttle body type solenoid. He can be reached at rvhvnfn@juno.com, or 208-459-7849, or you can write him at 19528 Lloyd Lane, Caldwell, ID 83607. It is a low cost option, not as cheap as a stick, but works for me. I pulled out my cigarette lighter and put a push-pull switch with LED in its place, and used the **** from the lighter minus the white logo to operate it. It is about $40US including UPS.
Re:Fast Idle
<br> The electronic High Idler from US Diesel Parts.com is the cats meow. They are afiliated with Gomers Warehouse Distributing. I start the truck in the morning, turn the **** on the box, located under the steering wheel on the lower dash panel, bring the RPM's up to 1200 and let it run for 10 minutes or so. With the block heater still plugged in, it brings the temp up and also helps keep the valve stems from varnishing because of the increased heat. When I am ready to move I turn the box off, be sure you turn it till it clicks off, or you won't have full power when you step on the throttle. This unit is A+ in my opinion.
