FASS question

Put a FASS 150 on a year ago and started with steady 22psi idle, now it is jumping 22-26 (readings from my Attitude monitor) I have changed the filters and it did not make a difference. What regulates the pressure? I got it used from a DTR member that had the spring "tweeked" cause he pulled sleds. Is there a rebuild kit? Repair kit?

Thanks

I don't know if there is any kind of rebuild kit available for those. Before jumping to conclusions, put a mechanical gauge on there to verify that reading is correct. If no change, I'd call FASS.

i second mrclean the vp44 tears up transducers. i think you will find with the mechanical gauge that it is the attitude. you must run a snubber with it.

I just run a 1/4npt needle valve on my mechanical autometer gauge. Been there for 7-8years now, no issues. I run a stainless hose off the schrader valve on the VP. I have 13psi at wot and 16-18psi at idle. I'm not using the fass replacement filter, I got mine from Napa, as they are a hydraulic filter (cheaper and easier to find), but I do run the fass water seperator.

on the return port on the FASS unit there is a spring and plastic/rubber ball. the spring winds up on the ball and causes problems like your describing. just remove the fitting on the tank return port, it is under that.

i just take mine out and rotate the ball and reinstall. i have had to do it 2 times to mine.

That is what I was looking for, its funny but since I posted the question it has smoothed out... I'll check that spring/ball this weekend.

mine would come and go also, seem to be worse in below zero weather, the spring will climb up on that ball, it is a very low tention small spring.

i had a S/W 25 PSI gauge mechanical that went crazy also, changed to a Ispro 100 PSI to solve that. no isolator or anything which i should have done.
