FASS Pump

Installed new fass pump had 18.5 @ idle 15 to 16 at normal throttle 11 to 12 @ wot. After about 4 or 5 day's pressure has dropped16 @ idle 11 to 12 @ normal cruise under 9 @ wot. why the drop in pressure? Have checked all connections and looks fine no leaks. Any ideas? Thanks

Mine dropped, but not that much. I was told that they all drop some. I'm three weeks into it and am idling at 17, cruising at 15/16, a 13/14 WOT. But then, all I have is the EZ.

I think your ok. Did you get the bigger lines to run from the filter to the pump?

While we're on the subject...how loud is you FASS II? How hot does the pump motor get?

Hmmmmm...you can hear mine from anywhere around the truck with the engine running, and it gets so hot you can't leave your hand on it.
I'm suppose to meet up with the guy I bought it from this week and let him take a look at it. He is also getting me the high flow replacement lines for the filter to pump.

Try a heatsink for the heat issue. Another thing, make sure the pump has a really good ground. Just some suggestions.

The heatsink is a good idea.
Thanks for the reminder for the ground.
It's grounded to the battery and three bolts thru the frame. Since I'm getting ready to use some vibration insulation on it, I'll need to run a ground to the frame.

Dan gave me some rubber anti-vib pad. I installed a piece between the clamp ring bracket and the main bracket and between the clamp ring and the bracket and it did help quieten it down. Then, I put a piece between bed bolt and the bed, and that made a lot of difference. I can no longer hear it from inside the cab with the engine running.

I also have the larger line and fittings to go between the VP and the filter. Exactly what will this larger line buy me, besides a little more fuel pressure? Since the VP already regulates the pressure internally, a little more then the 16 psi I already have cruising should make no difference. Will the larger line allow more fuel at the same pressure?

My Truck Idles at 21, cruise is around 19 and WOT is about 14, that is with the comp on 5x5. I have had the Fass for about 2 and a half months and have seen no different Fp readings since the first day i had it. When the fuel is low in the tank, my Fp numbers are about a PSI less then stated above. As for noise, it is quiet, only can hear it when I go to start the truck

Somedays Ive got 14 at wot and somedays its 4-5. The other day I tried to leave for work and the pump didnt even come on. After tapping on the pump, relay and everything else within reach it finally kicked on.
IVE checked and tested all connections 5-10 times and all checks to be fine.

If you've checked everthing on the pump, no leaks, and your fuel filter is clean.....take advantage of the four year warrenty
