Fass pump

My truck originally had the stock lift pump mounted to the block but when i got it it had been converted to an intank pump. I have an edge comp drag box and 5 inch straight pipe I wanna put a fass 95gph on because I plan on doing and stage 5 injector nozzles. How do I go about installing the fass? Do I need to unhook the intank pump and still use the fuel lines that run into the tank?

Not 100% on how to do it with the retrofit pump in there, but it can't be that difficult. I haven't seen an in tank pump yet so I could be way wrong, but give Diesel Dan a shout and he will walk you through it all.

I can tell you that installing a FASS on a truck with the old lift pump is an absolute piece of cake though.

I just put one on the other week. Although I didn't have the in-take pump, it was quick and easy. The only extra step with the in-tank pump is that you'll need to add a draw straw, which will require dropping the tank. I'm sure somebody will have some knowledge of how good or bad that was to install.

I don't think the FASS will work well with the in tank pump. I'm sure Diesel-Dan will be on here with a good answer.

I had the intank pump before I put my Fass pump in, and I was advised it would be better to get another factory "sump" and put it back in the tank for the FASS. The FASS wont work with the intank pump, you can use a draw straw, but of course there are downfalls to that also.

Looks like you got some good suggestions here.

The FASS/HPFP will not draw through the intank pump. You will need to install a stock module, or install a Suction Tube Kit. (STK-1001)

Vulcan Draw Straws only works with the stock modules IIRC. Will not work with the intank pump setups.

The Draw Straw just replaces the factory in-tank pump. The module remains to monitor the fuel level. I wish I had purchased a used non-in-tank module and just replaced it. Would have been a cleaner install. You will still have to drop the tank.
There is a non-in-tank pump module for sale in the classifieds right now....

They have the Draw Straw II that is meant for the intank pump modules.

So if i purchase the vulcan draw straw II couldnt i just unhook the power wire to the old pump or just take the old pump out of the sending unit and run the draw straw in?

No....the DSII or our STK-1001 are remote mount. Meaning that you drill a hole in the top of your tank to install the pick up. You just leave the pump in the tank and dont mess with it. It will be unpluged when you plug in the FASS harness up at the engine.
