OK, I've been running a fass II for about a month and I got used to the noise it gives off when I'm outside the truck. In the cab the 95gph pump is not noticeable at all. I'm jumped in the truck when it was idleing and had to jump back out because the pump is sounding weird. It sounds like it has tiny stone spinning around in there, kind of like when your drilling and you suck in some dirt. Not quite that bad, but you get the picture Anyone have this happen? Are the brushes failing? I'll check the wiring conection but I doubt that's the problem. Chime in with any thoughts. Fuel pressure is still 16.5 with no fluctuations.

 

The issue you might be having is cavitation on the suction side due to a restriction or sucking air. This would cause a noise kinda like what you described.....what i would do is do the "5 Gallon Bucket test" They out line on DPP's Web Site....Basicly what you do is pull the suction line off the tank....pull the return off and put both into a bucket of Diesel. Run the truck and see if the noise goes away....(WATCH FUEL PRESSURE!!!). If it does...you need to address the connection at the tank or the pickup in the tank. If it doesnt....you might have another issue......PM me and ill help ya out with it.....
