Do you have any concern with the FASS siting on the outside rail incase of impact on that side?

Anything bigger than a pickup has the fuel tanks outside the frame.

The FASS on my '99 was damaged in my accident last January. The filter and water separator started leaking a little. Diesel fuel does not burn like gasoline, and does not pose a threat in the event of an accident.

I'm not sure about the FASS, but the AirDog does have an option to mount the pump inside the frame (different mounting bracket). Their legal staff were afraid and wanted it moved (they obviously don't know about the difference in fuels). I opted for the "outside frame" mount so it is easier to get at to change filters -- I guess I'm just getting old...
