Why does FASS list the Baldwin MPG filter at 12 micron?? Baldwin says it is a three micron filter. I contacted their factory and they backed this up.

The number for the Baldwin water seperator (BF7760) is incorrect. I ordered one from a distributor and it didn't work. I don't know what the correct number is, but thats not it.

I know for certain that the Baldwin BT372-MPG, CIM-TEK 70032, FS1023, and WS-1001 numbers are correct. I've used all of those.

Oop's

I said 3 it is actually a five. I am getting senile. Here is the exchange on this filter, make your own judgement. All of the FASS information says it is a 12 micron.

------------------------

Thank you for your e-mail. The BT372-MPG is a nominal 5 micron filter. You should have no problem using it on your diesel fuel application.

If I may be of further assistance, please let me know.

Sirs:

I am looking for a hydraulic filter that will be used for diesel fuel. I was told that the BT372-MPG was a 5 micron filter but I have other information now that says it is a 12 micron. Could you tell me what the micron rating is or possibly lead me to a filter that will filter at or near the 5 micron rating with cool diesel fuel?

From what Ive read, the guy in charge is having to much fun plaguing you with vehicular problems to allow that. But when he starts stumping you, you might wanna start to worry.
