Question to ez....or not?

Hello all. My '99 CTD needs some zip, for towing my 5th wheel. I have the air in and out covered. I'm thinking about an ez edge....does this have a boost fooler in it? I notice that even with the min mods I have I push up around 25-27 psi. I'm still under warranty, so don't want to set any codes!! Thanks, Mark

I have the EZ and I tow an 8080lb 5th wheel. It is great for towing. And yes it has a boost fooler built in and a boost elbow comes in the box. At least that’s the way mine came. In fact I just got back from a trip up to Uxbridge MA with the truck. Was able to pull the hills on I395 doing about 68 mph with EGTs no greater than 1000 degf. I couldn't do that before the EZ.

I really like my setup for towing our 5r. And yes, built in boost fooler and mine also came with the boost elbow. My boost maxes out at 32 psi. What is with your nickname "firepiper" Just curious Phil

firepiper,

I agree with everyone. I also have a '99, and the EZ made a big difference. Really brought some life to the CTD. I've been running mine for over a year, and all is well, no codes. Just a hint: when you plug in the EZ to the MAP sensor, make sure that the engine is cool, and lay right on the valve cover from the front of the truck. Being slightly altitude-challenged (5'9") that was the only way I could reach the MAP sensor plug. After I figured that out, it took me about 5 minutes to install.
