Most dealers have a 30 day like it and keep it or dislike it and send it back for a refund, why not try it and then decide.

mpg is all in how much you can keep your foot off the go fast pedal.... especially with a chip.

I really can't say if the vanaaken box helped milage, I don't think so, I'm getting 16 to 19 and drive it faily easy to back and forth to work, keep in below 70 if possible, Now i pulled my 6500 pound boat up north at 74 mph and got 12 mpg. It never slow down once. That vaaaken box gives it power, but wondering if i'm missing out on some milage with that power by not running a newer box. The vanaaken box plugs into the injector pump. not the map and data link.

with my EZ, I noticed better highway mileage but when I'm foolin' around in town the smoke tends to pour out so my mileage isn't any better....

If you were to just put the EZ on a 2001 truck, auto, 3.55 re would you need any trans upgrades? How far do you need to go before upgrading trans and getting gauges?

Usually ok with just an EZ...but really depends on condition of your tranny. Stock trannys have lots of variation. Have not heard of many 47RE's having trouble with just EZ, if driven sensibly, but there are a few that had problems after a while.

I have the bullydoge with 3 settings on the truck right now. my vanaaken box has more power at low end for sure. Top end the bully dog may have more, I like my vanaaken box better, I just wish i knew the exactly what each one did. It nice having the boost fooler on the bullydog. I just have to see what the milage is now. How much chould i get out of my vanaaken box if i decide to sell it Bob? This box plugs into the pump.

It sounds like the vanaaken boxes just give you more fuel. I have a ez and it plugs into the map sensor. It adjusts the timing which is supposed to give you better mileage and also gives more fuel when needed. I really like it, not alot of extra power but it does help get ride of the boost lag. I myself would not get a bully dog because I think that they are over priced, but that is just my opinion. I think that the bully dog chip and an ez are the same, just different labels. I would go for the box that adjusts your timing if you want better mileage and a little extra power.

I think the bully dog and ez are simalier. The only reason for going with the bullydog is that there's a dealer around here. I kinds felt like i should give them the buisness seeing how they let me take the truck for as test drive with it on.
