extend the life of a vp44

i want to extend the life of my VP-44 pump. when i bought the guy said he had the dealer replace the injection pump, electric pump, and injectors. i dont want that to happen to me, i am perdy sure its inevidable that its gonna happen but i want to delay that event. not sure if i want to go with a fass system or the GFS system on DTR store. i am on a limited budget, later i want to get a smarty or a edge comp box. maybe way down the road a set of jammer nozzels.

Just my $.02:
To extend the life of a VP44, you need to keep it fueled at at least 6 to 7 psi minimum. 10 to 12 better yet. Try to keep your tank from going low,(as fuel is recirculated for cooling of the VP44 also. and low fuel will heat it up more.) As for the "K&N" though it passes more air than the stock unit it also passes more dirt and oil residue.(Not good for long engine life). A BHAF will work better and clean the air much better. Next get gauges for at the very least fuel pressure, and also fill out your signature so we all know what your packin so the forum will know things like auto or stick shift, 2WD or 4WD.
If you have auto, I'd recomend a trans temp gauge too.

A cheap step I have started from getting info on this site is to add about a quart of 2 stroke oil to every tank of fuel. Really makes the truck a little quieter and since the fuel is all that lubes the VP cant hurt.
