exhaust temp

Ok, I have just ordered my TC and VB, and since my truck will be down for a day. I want to grind my fuel plate to a 100 (That will work well for towing?) and do the gsk washer mod. The question I have is concerning EGT. I have read any where from 1250 to people reaching 1400. What is considered to much?

They say with stock timing, you can run at 1250 all day long. Above that, keep it brief.

The ideal temp to stay at is below 1250* for any long periods of time. If you get any hotter they recommened only for a short time..........short time meaning a matter of like 10 seconds. I know it doesn't seem long but to your Cummins it probably seems like an hour at those temps.

Thanks for specifying the "short time" definition.

I had a similar thread started and nobody actually posted what are the "time measurements".

I have a similer set up and I have been wondering the same thing about exhaust temps? What would be a typical temp at 70 mph?

What made you decide to go with a single disc? I was thinking a 3 disc when I get my tranny, but was told to consider a single.

After talking to alot of people, this includes manufactures. I really do not need a triple disc for my application. At least at this point, I am not running the HP required to spend the extra for a triple. Lets hope I made the right discussion
