Exhaust brake noise

I have a PacBrake installed. When it's activated, there seems to be an increase in noise from the area of the air box. Why is there an increase in noise from the intake when I'm closing off the exhaust? Just curious.

Re:Exhaust brake noise

Because the gasses can't get out of the exhaust so the gasses feed back a little through the intake. You'll notice your MAP and IAT sensors will get dirtier and require cleaning more often when using an exhaust brake.

Chris
