engine shudder - Comp problem?

Ok, just recently (in the last 3 weeks), my truck has started to shudder. It becomes WAY more noticeable the higher level i have my Comp set at, and it is barely noticeable with the Comp turned off. First thought was the tranny, but i have a basically new DTT trans and TC (maybe 8k miles on it). When i unplug the comp i cant feel the shudder anymore.

The heavier i get into the skinny pedal, the higher in rpm the shudder occurs. But it always happens around the 1-2 shift, sometimes before it and sometimes right after it.

So is the comp just goin haywire and i need to get it reprogrammed, or is it something else like my vp?

I guess I cant say for sure but Im guessing its the VP.. With advanced timing and fueling rates with the comp on. The VP is working harder.. maybe im wrong and its something cheaper... Good luck.

Should not be defueling with the Edge Comp?

I have never had anything like that... especially at the 1-2 shift. Mine shifts so soon after I start moving (with 3.55)... yours must be almost instantaneous w/ 4.10's ?

Does it happen with moderate to heavy acceleration or when carrying a load? I'm guessing it doesn't??

it gets worse under heavier acceleration, i havent tried pulling anything since this started happening.

isnt it the comp drag that doesnt de-fuel?

There are two kinds of defueling... but I would not call either a shudder.
I use to get the 'high torque/no speed' defueling before I got the Smarty... but only when I built boost while braking ... for drag racing. You should not be experiencing that??

The other defueling is at high rpm - 2700+. Your comp will not eliminate that either (yes, only the drag comp does)... but your not seeing that kind of rpm with your problem, are you?
