EGT Gauge

i have a gasser but my question is that i was wondering if i would benifit from a egt gauge because i do alot of towing and it would be nice to see my temps when iam bouncing around in our wheat feields so i dont start fires if any or none at all sudjestions much oblighed

YES!!!!! An EGT gauge and a fuel pressure gauge are two of the most important gauges you can buy for these trucks. When you do the EGT gauge, put it before the turbo. It will give you the temps that you want to see.

sorry big blue i have a gasser and was wondering if it at all the egt gauge would work for what i previously posted and is it worth it there goin on the 1996 2500 the dully is got the gagues but i had a brain storm about putting a egt on the gasser to watch my exhaust temps while towing and out in the wheat fields

Sorry. I don't think you should worry about it. I don't know anyone who has an EGT gauge on their gasser unless they are a drag racer. I guess you could do it. Don't see a really big need unless you have like a 600hp engine. Most guys I know running them on their gassers are spraying crazy shots of nitrous or have turbos on them.

the only reason i thought was for towing and i dont want to start fires because were in a aera that has no fire protection and its 2hrs either way for any fire to get here so eh lol thanks big blue

Actually...Gassers can benefit from EGT gage. The main reason is for tuning upgrades. EGT is more accurate than air/fuel ratio. EVERY airplane has one and typically cylinder head temp too. Of course airplanes had user adjustable mixture control.

If you're stock it's prolly just extra info you won't use...if you're not stock it's still a good idea. Vacuum gauge prolly gives more useful info on a gasser tho.
