Edge EZ Question?

I bought an 02 this weekened with this programmer already on it! I don't know alot about these things and wanted to ask a couple questions? Is this this best programmer for fuel mileage if not which is? Are there any pros and cons to this particular module? Thanks in advance for all the help!

For an average hp increase and pretty good mileage these are a good unit. You are going to get 50hp and most people I know see increases in fuel economy of anywhere from 1-3mpg. Combine that module with an air intake and an exhaust system then you can sometimes even gain up to 5mpg better.

You will most likely want to run an pyrometer to keep an eye on exhaust gas temperatures

Before the turbo you dont want to go much past 1250deg after the turbo would be about 950deg. You can go above those numbers for a very short period of time, but you should really try and keep the egts under that.

you need to get a fuel pressure gauge and a fuel system upgrade

I would *highly* recommend opening the EZ's end panel (those little allen screws) and moving the jumper from positions #3 to #1. This will delay the fueling a little bit, make the go pedal more linear, reduces smoke and helps mpg around town a bunch because you're not dumping fuel you can't burn.

IMO, the EZ on the lowest jumper with some mild injectors is a GREAT combo that's tough to beat.

Egts can definitely be an issue. Think of a pyro as $150 worth of insurance against a $7500 motor. If you lug the motor down a bit on a big pull with a ez you can definitely get it to the point of wanting to watch it.

what kind of numbers would you be putting down with the 80hp injectors and the box? it responds better on #1 than #3 with injectors?
