edge ez boost elbow problem
edge ez boost elbow problem
ok so i have let this go on for awhile now. but since i keep reading about people making over or near 30 lbs of boost with stock turbo and the ez elbow, i am starting to wonder why i don't. i installed the boost elbow with the ez. i only see about 2o to 21 psi tops. shouldn't i see more? that is the same as stock. my fitting for the gauge is taped into the intercooler pipe between the cooler and the intake horn. does anyone know whats going on or should i just live with it like this?
Doublecheck that the MAP sensor plug for the EZ is connected propperly and make sure all your intercooler clamps are tight. If you want tighten a small hose clamp over the short tube that feeds the wastegate from the boost elbow and see if that gets you better numbers.
Take off the EZ and leave the elbow on. I don't know on an auto but on the standards you can floor it and notice the engine de-fueling real bad. It is like you lifting up on the foot feed. Mine will hit around 24lbs with just elbow on and then drop down when the computer starts to de-fuel. With the ez on It peaks at 35 psi and will sit around 33 at WOT. I am getting my boost on the intake right above the heater grid. On another note how much boost will a HY-35 put out? I would assume a little less than an HX-35. The HY is quicker off the bottom to spool than the HX right? The numbers you give still seem low but I was just thinking.

without the ez plugged in you might set an overboost code if it does go too high. also, try blocking the wastegate completely with and without the ez. add a bit of dielectric grease to both the MAP and data connectors and reattach.
**BE CAREFUL AND WATCH YOUR GAUGE, IT COULD BE EASY TO GET TOO HIGH REAL QUICK**
