Edge EZ or?

The wife has said that I could spend some money on the truck. I was looking at the Edge EZ. My truck is 01 H.O. with a 6spd. I am more intrested in possible increasing the milage and not so intrested in more power. The EZ for my modle year only has one setting, 65 HP and X amount of tourqe increase. Will I see any increase in mpg's or am I better purchasing something else. A buddy of mine just stuck the EZ on his 06 Mega cab and did show some increase at level two and deffenetly showed about a 3 mpg increase on setting 1. I think the boxes after 03 have three settings. Setting number 2 on the new EZ is the same as the setting for the EZ available for my truck. I am looking for the least amount of hassel in the long run. Yes I will be getting gauages for the truck if I get a box installed. Only other plans I have are to switch everything to synthetics.
Any opinions?
SuperChips?
Quadzilla?

Thanks,

I would go with a Smarty if you want to spend that much money.

And I would nix the Superchips/Hypertech unless you find a smokin deal on a used one.

Only other advice from me would be to also look at the Van Aaken boxes, similar to the EZ but about $100 less, and have only heard good things about them.

fyi, this thread will probably get moved to Performance and Accessories where it belongs.

but, I'd spend the money and get the Smarty... actually, I already did. My EZ is collecting dust now. I can't say that I saw an increase in mileage when I was running just the EZ but I could get 20 mpg(all highway). I couldn't tell you what my mileage is now because I've been running DD3's for a year and they are a little smokey.

I've used the Ez and am currently using a Va smartbox 5 on my 01.5 ho with six seed. The Ez has three settings, they are behind the back cover of the module. When I towed I used the lowest setting. It made a huge difference over stock. It was fun on the high setting! The EZ had too much timing for my liking, I tow about 9,000lbs. My freind let me use his Va and I noticed less engine noise and smoother throttle response. As for me I already spent the money on the VA and am going to install Mach 1.6's later. For about $150.00 more than an Edge you can get a Smarty which, I believe has ten settings!! Everything from fuel saver to towing to let's have some fun!! Once you get mod bug it's a hard thing to stop. So research, research, research, so you can buy right the first time ---- it will save you money in the long run.
