So I can buy the Juice with Attitude and just not tap the pump? Does tapping the pump shorten its already short lifespan?

yes you can instal an Edge J/A and not hook up the wire that spices directly into the VP. Every feature will work on the J/A, except your limited to 60hp. Hard to say if the failure of a VP is caused by tapping it or lack of Fuel pressure, I'm guessing that a older hard used VP might fail should you tap it, lack of fuel pressure seems to be the general belief, of VP failure. mine was Tapped last Nov and I have logged over 2000hrs on it (approx 60,000kms) myVP was replaced in May08, and was only 8months old when I tapped it...BUT it had 1600hrs on it, 1600hrs for me is a lot of use doing the math it would be equal to 100,000miles. I have no regrets tapping my pump.

Just for the gauges/adjustability and small boost in power, the J/A is light yrs ahead of EZ and gauges

Cool, I have a Fass 95gph so I don't think the Vp will starve for fuel. I also replaced mine in May of 08' I think I have about 40,000 on the replacement. Just don't want to buy anymore VP than I have to, those things are expensive. Sounds like J/A will be the choice.

On older ones (a yr ago) you remove the rear cover and there was a jumper plug, that you shifted, it was only for smoke control and not a huge difference, (10hp maybe from highest to lowest) it came from the factory in the highest setting, but when I opened up mine there was NO jumper, I got one from a computer shop.

The other day I read on edges site that the new EZ had settings of 20,40, 60hp. picture looked like the old ones

to know for sure call edge, I'm sure they will set you on the right path

when I had my 24v the first set up I ran was an ez with rv275 injectors, intake and exhaust. It was a great towing set up and got great mileage...its also a fairly cheap set up. I had gauges to keep everything in check, but even with a 12k lb trailer egt's were never an issue.

I did run a goerend valve body and single converter

I used to have an EZ, great box. Went to the Juice with attitude for the gauges and really like the adjustability of it. I got a factory reconditioned unit off ebay for like $600.

I have the ez and I have been really happy with it, I don't pull extremely heavy loads, just 3 horse trailer, it gives me the extra power I wanted and seems to do okay with fuel economy. I would get a more aggressive chip, but I'm still on my original autotrans at 107k, so I'm afraid to do much more! had no problems with the trans yet and don't want any, but I guess it depends on how much money you wanna spend!
