Edge EZ?

Ok. So I installed an edge ez and a greenfilters cold air intake on my truck today, and I'm kind of dissappointed. I realize that it is a small chip, but I can't get any smoke and the box is set on the max setting where edge says to set it with stock injectors, which I still have, and if smoke is not a problem. I have a set of mach 5's on the way. I get a little puff if I wrap out the motor while sitting still, and a small haze when I mash on it while driving. I couldnt be happier with the green air intake. I can really hear it sucking air. I might put the silencer ring back in. I have not put my holley blue in yet nor do I have a fp gauge in place. I bought the truck in August 08 and have put about 11k miles on it. I got a small chip until I get the holley and the fp gauge in.

Close to sea level I don't see any smoke either. I believe edge created the unit this way. Now move up a mile in elevation or more say 6000' it will fog out an intersection till the turbo catches up.

As long as your feeling the power from the unit I say normal. Smoke is just unburnt fuel anyway.

Good luck and get that FP guage on ASAP.

Thanks Ram. I got the ez because it wasnt crazy since I'm still running the stock lp. I know the fp gauge needs to be on NOW, I will take it easy till then. The holley and the big line kit will be on asap also.

Did a little searching and found that by unplugging the MAP sensor I get a few good puffs. Also installed the boost elbow this morning and with those two changes seems to have made a difference on the 'ol butt dyno. I'm really looking forward to the mach 5s, holley blue, and the vulcan big line. But for now it beats stock. Thanks scottsjeeprolet

As aforementioned, smoke is unburnt fuel. I had zero smoke w/EZ and stock injectors on my '99. With DD2's and then Mach 1.6's smoke was prevalant under bog conditions and high altitude. With your injectors coming, count on plenty of unburnt fuel with stock turbo.

I know, the optimum condition is no smoke. However, sometimes it is FUN to FOG out tailgaters, and the occasional ricer.

I think you need more FUEL (lift pump) on top, then bigger INJECTORS bigger TURBO and a SMARTY!!!!to smoke the highway!!
i have dreamed on this many times!
