Edge for 2002 vs 2001

Edge for 2002 vs 2001
Just curious about how this works. There is an Edge for 2002, yet there is an adapter to hook up an 01 Edge to an 02 Truck............ what is the difference, or am I misunderstanding.

I believe it is a connector issue. The adapater gives the proper connector terminations.
All I could find on the Edge website was this, from the FAQ page:
Q: WILL THE EZ FIT ALL YEARS FROM '98.5-'02?
A: No. There are separate modules for '98.5-'00, '01, and '02. There is an
adapter for the '02 allowing a '01 to fit, but not for the other years. Be year
specific when ordering for your truck.
