Dyno Time...

So some buddies and I got a date to do some runs. I am shooting for 600hp. With the setup I got do you think I can get there? I have a Snow Stage 3 that will be here on Thursday. Oh and I am running 22* timing at the moment. The AFC and the plate are full forward and am running about 49 psi. It cleans the smoke pretty good. Anything that I can do to hit 600hp or do you think that I am almost there?

Im runnin about 60 psi on a set of twins

and hit only 514 rwhp, id say with the larger injectors and the water meth u might be over 600 with twins, but with ur current setup, id have to agree with nOne.. I know for sure some DDP 4's (comparable in power to yours) and some full cut dvs with twins will get u there for sure..

That turbo is good for 500-550 (unless its the new high tech series) and if your clearing smoke then you're probably less than that =\

Its the High Tech Series turbo. From what I have been reading on here on other places, I need more fuel?

you could use more fuel.. just keep going untill your turbo can't keep up with the fuel .. Or untill your EGT's are unmanageable..

what are unmanageble EGTs?

aint it normal to peg the pyro before the 1/8 mile? with my setup identical to yours, it is....

Hey cant wait to see the results. since my setup is the very same as yours, just my smoke wont clear up! also dont make as much boost... why? cuz of my high elevation?

throw in some bigger DV's and dyno!

On another note here:
Just talked to a few shops about getting pump work done. Industrial Injection told me to get a FASS system and LC DVs to get more fuel. They said that they couldnt do anythng to get more fuel other than go to 13mm p&b's. Ok fine. Call up Columbus diesel Supply. They could get me up to 400-450cc's for about $1800 and have it flowed and balanced. Called Schieds. $750 to flow 450cc's and tune it to 4500rpm.

I am thinking of pulling the pump and sending it to Schieds. Or would you guys think otherwise. They seemed to be the most knowledgeable and helpful on the phone to me also.

Good price

and from what ive come to know, anything that schieds does is usually kick **** work, id rather go that route over columbus diesel...

Far as the FASS, whats your fuel pressure at? if its normal, then id suggest let it be, or u can run another more efficient setup, IE ditch the OFV, and run an automotive regulator in place of that, an aeromotive fuel pump and some lines... that oughta get it done, OR go with the Auxillary fuel system from schieds or haisely machine... Jim FUlmer has had great results with the system from Haisley machine.. and its less expensive than a FASS..

yeah from all the problems I have heard about FASS, I really dont think thats the best way to go.... But I think that Schieds will be doing the pump here soon though. I dunno what fuel pressure is. Dont have a gauge, it runs fine though. The stock lift pump ought to be good for 600hp isnt it?

Id go ahead and check the Fuel pressure if i was you

the LP on my truck had no problems turning 500 plus at the rears, So im certain that it can go to 600 or so with the proper air mods and in my case, some DDP4s and Full cut DV's, water meth would put it over 600 for sure...

IIRC, i think it was Infidel taht posted the stock system is good to about 800 or so horsepower? not sure if thats flywheel, or engine tho, Do calculate as much as a 20 percent loss at the rear tires tho, it is possible...

Fuel pressure, cheap insurance, and u will know for sure if your truck is running right or not, Hell i was surprised with mine at 10 psi and it still ran fine.. Shim that OFV if it aint runnin right... the pressure will pick up...
