Ordered and installed a steering stabilizer last weekend. Installation was simple, took me all of 40 min in fading daylight. I hoped to get improvement when towing, I experienced some wandering in high crosswinds with the travel trailer after I installed 285-75-16s in place of 305-70-16s. The new tires are stiffer; the wind was stronger than ever, but the truck had some unpleasant sway, and the delayed steering response didn't help.
I have not towed yet with DSS but driving empty down a winding mountain road was more pleasant than before. The steering was more stable in turns, and switching from tight left into tight right was without the usual "flat spot" in the center. I am pleased! Hopefully the improvement will be even more apparent when towing.
