Talking

the van akken box adds timing and if the programmer does{probaly does}then you will be adding to much timing which may harm the engine,im pretty sure programers only work with fueling only boxes.

The programmer should work as a code reader if nothing else.

As far as I know the programmer doesn't add any timing so you should be ok using it with your box..........I'm not 100% SURE that is true but I remember reading a post from Bob Wagner saying that the programmer didn't add timing.

I have a question. If a programmer doesnt effect timing and only fuel then wouldnt it have to tap into a pump wire somewhere? I ask because I had a superchips tuner and sold it when I got my comp because I was told that would be way to much timing but I know a guy that uses the same setup on his truck but he only uses it at the pulls and sometimes has to give it a shot of ether to get it going because of the timing and it sounds like crap when it finally starts.

Yeah, you are right Eric, Nick is thinking of the Smarty, which is technically a programmer, but it is in a whole different leauge from the Superchips and hypertech, which are timing based...

So I guess yall are both right...
