Question Does MAD ecm need a drag comp

Does a guy need to upgrade to a drag comp if he already is going to run a MAD ecm ? Do you gain anything running a drag comp with a MAd ecm? the higher fuleing is covererd with the mAd ecm right?

sorry for the push fellas but my comp is on its way to edge for replacemnt or fixing and now is the time to upgrade if any, hence i need an answer soon. I have read the mad ecm raises the defuel past 2700 but do I get any more power is it worth the upgrade?

You can run a standard comp with a MAD ECM, I have a MAD ECM on the way, I just specified that I wanted to run it with a comp, and they fixed me up.

I am no expert in this but from the info I have found(I to have been wondering about this) the Mad ECM does NOT address the 2700rpm defuel issue so if you plan to run it with a comp I would say get your comp upgraded while its there.

The mad ecm fuels to 3200 rpm. If you want to run the edge comp you will need version 2 of the mad ecm. It has less timing.

Are you sure about the fueling to 3200?
I thought I read a post that Marco said it did not fuel any higher than original.
This is one of the main reasons I havent pursued it any further?
It would be nice if I was wrong again

Drag comp will give you more fueling than the Comp...if you don't have an HO engine. But you do not need the Drag Comp just to handle high end defueling. Request defueling elimination when you order the MAD ECM.
One time, I did not realize I had the OD off and I hit WOT. Heard the engine winding up and looked down to see rpm needle into red arc on tach and still pulling hard!

Marco does not seem to talk about it? I heard it had been tested by Ollie Poole and worked. I asked for it and got it. Not sure if it's a standard item now, or special order, or not available??

I hope that is an option then I won't upgrade the drag comp being I wouldn't gain anything if I am reading everyone correct.
